New Violins
Welcome to my violins page. Here you can browse violins I have made using the left menu. There is a selection of beautiful instruments I have copied of different Italian makers including G.B. Rogeri of Brescia, Stradivari and Del Gesu of Cremona. What you will find is a description of each violin accompanied by several photographs for your viewing pleasure. The instruments are aimed at high level student looking to upgrade and professionals alike looking for a quality reliable instrument at a modest price.
The woods I use are sourced from European suppliers providing high quality tone woods which not only sound well but are also attractive. I use Spruce on the belly and Maple for the neck, ribs and back which sometimes varies from quater cut to slab cut. These terms refer to how the tree was sawn. Quater cut is where if you imagine a circular section of the tree trunk, from the centre out you take a triangle and then split the triangle in 2 you would have a 2 piece quater sawn back as a post to cutting straight through the circle creating slab cut backs. You can see the difference as one has grain lines running up and down the plate as a post to swirling around.
Should you find a violin you like the look of please call or email me to arrange a viewing and trial.
