Del Gesu model violin
I had not set out to buy an instrument, as I thought that the violin I already had more than met my needs. However, on trying Edward`s Del Gesu model I instantly knew that it was the perfect violin for me! It has an incredible range of sound colours, great depth, resonance and response. It is also incredibly flexible, moulding to my every musical thought.

Edward is also a really helpful & modest person, especially when you take into account his fantastic craftsmanship and level of skill.
Edward creates wonderful instruments and I really feel that the violin I purchased will develop and grow with me and my music.

Bow Rehairs
Edward Gaut is the only person I allow to rehair my bows as his workmanship is second to none. My best bow has a curved bottom to the frog which most re-hairers have struggled to cope with. Edward had no difficulty whatsoever. The bow hair comes back immaculately evenly spread, including around the difficult curved part, something no other re-hairer has managed as well. In addition to this the hair itself is always of super quality and lasts really well.

Edward lives a long way from me but this is not a problem as I post my bows to him in a drainpipe! He has them back to me within a day of receiving them.

There are several other re-hairers in my area but for the quality of work I always use Mr Gaut.
