Stradivari Violin Copy

Front of new Stradivari Violin Copy

This instrument has now sold. Please contact me for details of my other instruments.
Stradivari is without a doubt the most famous Cremonese violin maker of all time. He essentially created the modern measurements for instruments made all over the world today. With the fundamentals set, it is hard not to make an instrument that works.

This violin is the first violin I antiqued and is based on the 1704 Betts he made of that year. The varnish is oil based and worn the same way that the original is with warm orange brown on top of a yellow brown base. The wood is about 10 year old and produces a quality sound that you would expect from a copy of this design. The violin is finished with boxwood fittings to compliment the overall look.

  • Back length 353.5mm
